My Story

I started doing photography in high school and immediately fell in love with the stories behind photos. Growing up in Austin, Texas, there was no shortage of stories to be found around town with my friends, whether it was just a day at the lake or a big festival like Austin City Limits. I chose to pursue journalism at the University of Missouri to learn how to communicate the experience and significance of these community-driven stories to a wider audience. My studies took me abroad to Denmark, where I could really focus on how to contextualize local issues within a larger narrative for both local and distant audiences. Since being back, I strive to include more diverse voices in the stories I tell and dig even deeper into the "who" and "why" of events and issues within my community.
